I’m not addicted
so far

porn
gambling
Facebook
video games
cable news
googling
TV
and on
and on
and on

I admitted
I was
powerless over
drugs and alcohol

because
alcohol and drugs
caused my life
to become
unmanageable

but
nicotine
sugar
butter
and
red meat

is probably
what what
my doctor
will record
on my
death certificate
as the cause
of my demise

Once an addict
always an addict

Even when we quit
drugs sex ‘n’ rock’n’roll
while we are
still young

our bodies
keep score
and
take revenge
later on in life

How long is
your addiction list?

I hope
yours
is not
as long as
mine

My doctor
had a heart attack
when he saw
my list of ailments

At the
tender young age
of 64

I can not
work a real job
any more
